1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using MedVault ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our medical records management platform ("MedVault," "we," "us," or "our"). This is a personal project, not a commercial healthcare service.

2. Service Description

MedVault is a personal project that provides a platform for organizing personal health information, including:

  • Storage of medical records and documents (using Supabase cloud storage)
  • AI-powered analysis and organization of health data (using OpenAI APIs)
  • WhatsApp integration for document upload
  • Basic organization and search functionality
  • Timeline view of medical history
  • Personal use only - not for professional healthcare

Important: This is a personal project for educational and organizational purposes. It is not a certified healthcare service and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use our Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate

  • To spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape

5.1 HIPAA Compliance

MedVault is designed to be HIPAA compliant. However, you acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable healthcare regulations
  • We are not a covered entity under HIPAA, but we implement appropriate safeguards
  • You should consult with healthcare providers about sharing sensitive information
  • We cannot guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated analysis

5.2 Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the health information you upload. We are not responsible for any errors or omissions in your data or for any decisions made based on the information stored in your account.

6. Privacy and Security

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are part of a personal project. The Service uses open-source technologies and third-party APIs (Supabase, OpenAI, WhatsApp). This is not a commercial product and is provided for educational purposes.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all health information and data you upload to our Service. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing our Service to you.

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide continuous service availability, but we do not guarantee that our Service will be available at all times. We may experience hardware, software, or other problems or need to perform maintenance related to our Service, resulting in interruptions, delays, or errors.

We reserve the right to change, update, or discontinue any part of our Service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of our Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

This is a personal project provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the Service. This tool is for personal organization only and should not be relied upon for medical decisions.

Our total liability to you for all damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

10. Disclaimers

This Service is provided on an "as is" basis as a personal project. We make no warranties and disclaim all liability. This is not a professional healthcare service.

  • Excludes all representations and warranties relating to this Service and its contents
  • Excludes all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this Service
  • Does not provide medical advice or replace professional medical consultation
  • Does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated analysis or insights

11. Indemnification

You agree to use this Service responsibly and understand that it is a personal project. You are responsible for your own data and any decisions you make based on the information stored or analyzed through this Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

15. Severability
